"Two years ago (2015), I had an exhibition in Iran at the same Gallery that I had my recent show in. One of my artworks was a protest sign with "WAR - WAR TO THE END" written on it. It was to oppose the slogan Iran’s government promoted during the Iran-Iraq war: War-War to the victory. The words victory and end rhyme in Farsi. I was not able to include that protest sign in the show, since the gallery belongs to government and they were not happy with it. This time, I decided to embroider it on a shirt and wear it during the show. They couldn’t ask me to take off my shirt and I was able to not only oppose the slogan buy also talk about the issues of censorship."
